Exciting news!

Congratulations! I'm getting married on the Spirit in April. My fiancée and I met on the Spirit so we decided to get married on the same ship. We have also booked a suite - one of the aft penthouses. We haven't made too many decisions yet. We did request the galaxy of the Stars for the ceremony and reception.

Congratulations! Your wedding cruise sounds delightful! I'm glad you like the Spirit.

 

NCL Spirit is my least favorite NCL ship. I have been on Southward which was my first cruise, so I have a very biased opinion of Southward. Other NCL ships include: Crown, Sky, Sun, Majesty, Pearl, and Jewel.

 

I have been in suites on Majesty in 2008, Pearl in 2012, and Jewel 2014. NCL provides a wonderful suite experience. I especially enjoy breakfast and lunch in the specialty restaurant for suite guests.

 

Your delightful attitude is uplifting. Will you try to be a part of the Marriage show?

We are trying not to get too ahead of ourselves with the planning until I have my visa in my hand and we have specific dates, but in the meantime, looking at the options provides a welcome relief from all the bureaucracy.

 

Everyone knows how much I love my pre-cruise researching!

I get my shoes all over! Generally just from UK high street stores. I tend to buy them as I see ones I love or a good deal, rather than try to find a new pair for specific occasions or outfits, as I never seem to have any luck then :rolleyes:

 

Imagine how hard it's been for me having to cut my collection down a bit, knowing I have to ship everything out to the US. Once I'm there, I might need a new pair to get over the trauma lol!

They are by Faith, sold in department stores here in the UK. I like the brand because as with my other favourite, Kurt Geiger, they have some rather unusual, quirky designs. Oh, and very high heels :D

I know I've been MIA on here for a while now so I thought it was time to check in and explain why I've been rather busy...

Yup, your long time solo blogger is getting married and where else but on a ship?! And although we are still waiting on the impending visa before we can finalise plans, it is looking highly likely I will be returning to the beautifully classic Norwegian Spirit.

 

So not only will you get my usual rants and ramblings, there will be my take on the suite life, a cruise wedding and travelling with a large group! It will be a very different experience for me indeed, but I am very much looking forward to returning to my old favourite, NCL :D

Silly me had an awful flash of realisation a few weeks back that meant my cruise wedding dream can't go ahead... The terms of my visa means that I can't come in and out of the country, it is for one time entry only until we are married then have my status officially adjusted to a permanent resident. And where does a cruise go...? M and I couldn't believe we hadn't realised this sooner. But at least we hadn't booked anything yet.

 

Instead we are getting married in Winter Park, Fl in February. I now physically have my visa and everything is steaming ahead. We shall return to cruising asap of course, maybe that will be our belated honeymoon :D

Have you and M thought about a cruise on NCL Pride of America? It would be an NCL cruise that would stay in the USA. While I am sure that you have planned everything out. I had to just mention it. I would hate to miss a wedding cruise review of yours! I am not sure if it would meet your visa requirements, but had to mention it.
