Moby0215 Posted October 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Credit card is definitely more convenient in the sense that you will not have to wait for a refund if you do not spend all of the cash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Of course, if you don't charge anything to your room, it may not be an issue.
cb at sea Posted October 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2015 You can use the credit card for the duration of the cruise, and on the last night, go and pay it off in cash, if you want to.
kirsty_r Posted October 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2015 as the above said, pay off in cash on last evening, in my experience NCL is fairly quick at releasing the hold on the credit card once the account is settled.
Langham1865 Posted October 19, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2015 I would open it with a credit card... you can always pay with cash at the end of your cruise. Like a previous poster said, you won't have your ship account frozen if you run out of cash.
mom23krzkidz Posted October 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 19, 2015 We plan to open ours with cash, but also have paid for everything in advance except beverages for the young adults who may want an occasional beer. We typically go cash only on trips as a way to keep cognizant of expenses. We will stick with our normal plan this time as well.
phoenix2mn Posted October 20, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 20, 2015 So if u pay in cash u can't get the unspent back from guest services on the ship at the end?

Yes you can but if you use a card there is no wait in line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
luvtheships Posted October 20, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) Credit card. No brainer If you are of the mindset that you just cant have any post cruise bills to pay....just prepay your credit card with the amount of cash you would put down If by chance you actually pre pay more than what your sign n sail is at the end....again a non issue....just use your card as normal when you get home for stuff you must buy anyway...groceries...gas. Etc I give no one cash when they happily accept credit cards... And never ever use a debit card I charge everything...Dunkin donuts if I feel like it And then I simply go to my online checking and set up the bill pay....lol...haven't use a stamp on a bill in years...online bill pay is also another no brainer IMHO No need to give up cash if credit cards are welcomed Sent from my iPhone using Forums Edited October 20, 2015 by luvtheships
