How much does it cost to play?

Most games are 10.00 for 1 card 20.00 for 3 cards. During the week they will have a special like gringo bingo for 5bucks a card. It dont take long for one game. Hell -- it takes longer to collect themoney then it does to play the game

Is it like regular bingo? One card for the whole time your sitting there? How long is a full set? I may need to sneak away from my BF if she gets on my nerves:rolleyes: .

it must be worth it to tons of people cause it does get crowded..but then again-- its in the same lounge as the show and Bingo always is played before that.

Is it worth is-- really is a personal choiice-- me? I can buy 2 frozen foo foo drinks for the price of one bingo game and they will last me a lot longer.

Its played like bingo- its only one game. (they call whats to be played--corners- "X" "L" etc the card is a page.. the numbers have an area that can be folded to let you know that number has been called.

Why is it tax free?

sharkgirl:confused:

You're in International waters, however if you win more than 10,000 and try to take it back in, it is reported to the Customs people and of course they tell the IRS, don't know what happens then. DW won $8,347.00 on coverall bingo 7 years ago on a Royal Carribbean cruise ship, but our bar bill ate up $1000.00 with all the Don P champagne we consumed. Didn't report a dime either.

Ahh, cant compare the winning on a royal ship to the Carnival ships. Royals prizes are so much more then carnival- Carnival doesnt even split the pot with passengers.

Win a cruise bingo is big on the ship-- if you can only play once thats the game that is very well attended.

I guess HAL does split, I won $100 on bingo and so did someone else so I had to split it with them (i got 50). I was happy I won but thought, gosh I know they make enough money so why do they make people split and especially an amount so minimal, come one we are talking 100 bucks here...

NO i am not complaining so dont bash me!!

One pot per game...two winners...split pot. Pot size depends on how many players (and number of boards that they bought...once saw a woman with 10 for each game and she was the only one complaining that numbers were being called too fast). I've won a couple of times...smallest pot $150, largest $500.

I assume tax free because it is international waters. Which had me wondering...

When I win big in the casino is that tax free too?? Oh, I hope so!!

:D

Nope, sorry.

I collected a W2G (Gambling) on both RCCL and Carnival this year.

The Taxman always cometh.

Couple of things about Bingo on the Carnival cruise ships. On our first cruise, it seemed as if we played Bingo most of the time alloted to Bingo. With recent cruises, the dancers spend about 22 minutes selling cards, the game takes 5 minutes and then you are out of there. Many of the games are 4 corners games so they can speed it up. I guess the profit is good, however, so there still is Bingo.

You will also notice that the prizes are really dinky during the first few days of the cruise but improve each day. If you happen to split a prize with a couple of other winners on the first day, you will just be a few dollars above the $20 it cost for 3 cards.

I have been on 8 cruises so far and have averaged about 2 bingo games a day for about 5 days of each cruise. That means I have about $1,600 invested (at the $20 for 3 cards rate). So far I have won 1 game for $150. What is wrong with this picture? Thank God I did not have to split the $150. Every time your mention Bingo, however, you hear all these stories about cruisers and their big winnings. Well, I am here to say that you all have me to thank since I have made this all possible. ................ "You're welcome!"

On RCI "Majesty of the Seas" I won $99 on the last game of the first night. The played multiple games. RCI puts a credit on your card.

On the Inspiration "Welcome bingo" I won $600 all by myself. They paid cash but only played one game.

Hopefully, I've set a pattern and I will win on the first night of my upcoming cruise.

Lots of people do play including myself!!! Odds are terrible with the amount of people that play, but it is fun and there is a cocktail server....lol You can pay cash or S&S card....keep in mind lines are much shorter for cash!!! Good luck I won one time and had to split winnings with another player........yuck!
