Barefoot Beach Cabana Reservations

We are staying in a grand suite on Navigator the 1st week of January and I emailed the Concierge the other day to inquire about Cabanas. I knew it was to early, but I wanted to try...

Anyway, this was my response. Can anyone help decipher this? The online booking statement makes me nervous. Is there a way people book these online ???

Thank you so much for your e mail,

I would like to inform you that we cannot reserve cabanas in Labadee until

one week before your cruise, we will wait the booking on-line first and

after I can inform you the availability that we have, I will keep your

request in our file and I will go to inform you immediately I receive from

shore side the booking on-line list.

Thanks again for your request and I looking forward to meeting you very

soon.

Thanks.

Very confusing response...Hopefully what they are saying is they have you on (their) wait list for Barefoot Beach Cabana's (no I don't believe you can ever reserve these online only Nellie's which are available to anyone)...And as soon as BB is available for them (concierge) to book they will notify you....it's just how many they have on their list and what number you are on that list. Touch base with the concierge as the time gets closer also.

We were only D members staying in 3 JS's and we were put on a wait list a month prior to our cruise (1st on that list) a few years ago (I had emailed our wonderful DL concierge and she took care of this easily) but didn't find out we had gotten a BB cabana until the night before we ported in Labadee..making sure all those in GS and above had had the opportunity to book them...we lucked out./B]

We are in a GS first week of January also. I emailed the concierge earlier this week to let him know my wife had went online to book a cabana, not knowing it wasn't on Barefoot Beach, he promptly replied that he had taken care of it and we would have an over the water cabana on Barefoot instead.... Seems like it may depend on the ship... He will definitely get a little extra upon completion of our cruise...

It pretty much means the Concierge is busy with this weeks guests he is responsible for and then he (she) will be busy getting ready for next weeks guests ! If you still haven't heard from him right after Christmas , then you can send an Email. But they usually get in touch with you shortly after they sail on the week before you leave.

Thanks everyone. I have reserved an OTW cabana on Nellies when they become available. I was lucky enough to get it at $320 before it sky-rocketed to $495. I will hold on to that one until I know for sure we got one at Barefoot Beach.

Also, I haven't heard a firm answer about the pricing at BB. Can anyone conform/deny that the price hasn't gone up for those cabanas? I think if the have, I would keep my $320 cabana and just walk over to BB for the buffet...
