Time it will take to get off RCCL

Hi everyone. We are taking a 5 day RCCL cruise on Independence of the Seas. Sailing 1/30/16 to 2/4/16. It will be coming in on Thursday morning at 7:00 at Fort Lauderdale. We are thinking about booking another little cruise on the 4th since I am taking the week off work. The only one that works is Carnival Sensation out of Port Canaveral. Sailing at 4 pm. It is a 3 hour drive in good traffic. Do you think it is do able? Can't remember how fast RCCL get you off. Only sailed with them once. The travel agent thinks it could be risky. What does everyone think. Should we try it? I am just about ready to book but thought I would find out what everyone thinks. We are going to park the car at the park and cruise in port Canaveral. Does that go pretty smooth? Kind of nervous

Of course it's doable! You'll be off the 1st ship by 9am at the latest, most likely...you have time. Just tell them you have an early flight..no need to do self-carry...they get you off in one of the 1st groups.

That's what I had thought. But travel agent said to allow 4 hours. Made me question

Plenty of time. We do back to back in the summer and at Thanksgiving. Our oldest daughter lives in Orlando. We often drive one way or the other between cruises. That being said, it's a long, boring drive(just my opinion).

We are driving down from South Carolina so it will shorten the drive home. I am so tempted to try this

Don't miss when they bring the papers to fill, when is your flight home. They never check, so just mark off the earliest time.

In FLL you can self-disembark as early as 7:15am. I don't think you will have any problem making the second ship.
