Cruisin & Schmoozin Posted April 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2004 I understand there are laundry facilities on each deck. Are there irons in each cabin, also? Thanks! Judy
Toto2Kansas Posted April 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2004 No irons in the cabins, and they frown on you bringing your own, the fire hazzard would be terrible. But Princess does provide ironing boards and irons in their self serve laundry rooms free of charge! Tahitian October 14th,2004
JanC Posted April 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Hopefully, the kind that shut off automatically! Just the thought of someone having an iron, or candles, in their cabins, gives me the willies! WooHoo, cruisin' again in May 2004!
hcourtney30 Posted April 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2004 who the hell wants to iron on a cruise?
Andee Posted April 21, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2004 I don't ever WANT to iron, but sometimes it's necessary to look nice, on a cruise or not.
Cruisin & Schmoozin Posted April 21, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Thanks, All. Messages received and understood. I'll hopefully get it right before sailing! And the new travel iron goes back to the store asap. Judy
Hairbender Posted April 21, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Don't run back to the store just yet... I have always taken my travel iron... I have tried the steamers, and they just take to long... I throw a towl over the dressing table and walla, your wrinkle free. I can't beleive that someone would be so stupid to leave a iron still plugged in after the fact, but I guess there is always those few... So if you plan on bringing an iron...Be responsible... 94 Carnival Ectasay 96 RCL Legends 98 Dawn Princes 01 Crown Princess 02 RCL Grandure 03 Clebrity Summit 04 Tahitian Princess

I have always taken my travel iron

Even though it's against the printed rules? Remember, anyone following Hairbender's "advice", that s/he is encouraging you to violate Princess's policies.
quote:
I can't beleive that someone would be so stupid to leave a iron still plugged in after the fact

But they do, and maybe a person you're encouraging to bring the iron along with will be that person. People, Princess provides Irons in the laundry rooms on each floor. They work just fine, and if you go at off hours you don't have to wait for them. The rules are published for a reason, an unattended iron CAN CAUSE A FIRE AT SEA. It's not worth it.
Toto2Kansas Posted April 21, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Nitemare, I totally agree with your responce. Why break the rules and possibly have a problem? Especially when they supply them for your use at no charge. Tahitian October 14th,2004
JanC Posted April 21, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Nitemare, You could not have said it better. Leave your irons at home, it is not worth the chance. And you don't have to be stupid to leave the iron on, just forgetful. Or distracted. Or in a hurry. etc etc etc WooHoo, cruisin' again in May 2004!
