I absolutely agree about meeting nice people who are mostly not on CC, specially when you read some of the posts on here and you think - hey I hope I never meet that poster face to face on a ship.

Great line to start the day with :) I couldn't agree with you more :) Smooth seas on the next adventure.

In hind sight....booking the entire Crown Grill might have been the best route. We are about inclusion. ...NOT disruption.

If anyones dinner was disturbed or ruined due to our presence. ....it was NOT our intenion to do so.

Hope this clears some thjngs......Glad we had great weather and calm seas.

Thanks for the response. While I'm glad to hear that Princess took care of the CC group, I do think they dropped the ball when it came to the group's evening in the CG, and how it impacted other people's experience (from a service standpoint, that is). They just didn't handle it well, which is surprising since I'm sure it wasn't their first rodeo (note the indirect beef reference...a stretch, I know). But when someone has to wait nearly an hour to get their dessert, it means that someone dropped the ball somewhere.

In the long run, it was one less-than-pleasant experience out of 10 days of many wonderful experiences.

If you noticed. ...the entire ship appeared understaffed.

We wish you well and great sailing in the future. We are already on our NEW adventure. Sort of a vacation from a great vacation.

Casino rate along with EZ Air specials are producing some Amazing deals.

Bon Voyage

We really didn't notice a staffing issue, but then again it was just the two of us, and not an entire group.

Happy sailing to you, as well!

I totally agree with you, didn't notice a staff issue anywhere. Like I said before.. Service was "top notch". We did the UBD and it was wonderful. I am not anti-social or critical of Cruise Critic followers, they just need to be discrete. When I was with girlfriends on the Oasis of the Seas we were part of the Meet & Mingle with staff members present (excited for my friend, she won several gifts.. Wine, RC umbrella, etc), we did the cabin crawl, slot pull.. But that was the end of it! Did not notice CC organizes or followers after our second day. We are Princess Elite and this cruise on the Regal was one of our favorites.. Along with our cruise on the "original" Regal. Hope to cruise the Regal Princess again soon.

A great thing about this cruise was that it was not a full ship. Any one that sailed the Royal out of NY last year witnessed a full ship. Talking to ships officers at the M&G. roughly 15% of crew finished contracts with a large change over after the completion of the 5 night sailing.

Understaffed doesn't mean under served. Service was not lacking in main areas.

Also as a long time Princess Elite cruiser.....I enjoy my time at sea. And hope the new year will allow me more days at sea than on dry land. I hope the same for all of you.

Totally agree. We met lots of very nice people (and crew) on the cruise. As to CC, as is our usual practice we choose to avoid the Meet and Greet and not get involved in any CC-based activity. Our only staffing complaint (which we have posted) was being unable to get anyone to answer the "Room Service" telephone line for 4 days (eventually resolved by the intervention of Guest Services).

Ah, the original REGAL....cool ship with a quirky side. We were lucky enough to stand about 30 ft. from Margaret Thatcher as she christen the ship in Brooklyn. After we watched the ceremony, we sailed with the ship to the Manhattan pier for an on board party that included The Love Boat cast, Florence Henderson, Carol Channing, Rich Little, John Forsythe, Connie Stevens, Jack Jones, and some other LB regulars. For some reason, Robin Leach was there (he was so full of himself). Bernie Koppel did his best "Seigfried" for me...nice man.

The skinny on this nights group dinner went this way. Princess actually supported and encouraged all the activities we planned. Princess was contacted in September about reservations for all our dinner plans. We were offered the entire Crown Grill for our dinner. All 94 seats. We didn't have interest for that many. It was determined that the front 3 tables would seat 28...other seating were for parties of 6 or less. We condensed this to 2 tables of 13 each.....We accepted there time of 8pm.

We were given a dedicated photographer and video person. Who escorted us to nearly all our planned events...including our dinner here in the CG. Our reservations were confirmed with a cabin note upon boarding....We weren't a suprise. ....rather a planned, expected group. Our purpose wasn't to disrupt, but fun for members gathered from around the world. Any extensive knowledge of cruising among other topics were freely shared by and among the group.

The Halloween dinner gathering attracted 73 guest in costume in the MDR

The CC group totoled 163 patticipents. The ships sponsored video insert was included in the Cruuse's Reflections video which premierd in the Princess live theater on the final sea day.

In hind sight....booking the entire Crown Grill might have been the best route. We are about inclusion. ...NOT disruption. A poster stated they knew we were planning the group get together and booked anothet evening. I lean towards the poster who suggested joining.

In closing. ...this was the 6th year in a row we've met as a group....many are already planning for next year....Including Princess from a Post cruise phone call looking forward to next years Reunion.

If anyones dinner was disturbed or ruined due to our presence. ....it was NOT our intenion to do so. Other than Halloween. ...onboard gatherings next year will be few and Grown Grill doubtful.

Hope this clears some thjngs......Glad we had great weather and calm seas.

[emoji24]. Sorry to hear since my granddaughter and I are signed up for next year and were looking forward to all your CC activities.

I stumbled onto this thread.....Roland, you must stop defending our CC group. Obviously, in all the years you have been organizing activities and events, no matter what you do, you will NEVER please everyone.

It is everyone's choice to put Cruise Critic in the subject line and proceed to his/her roll call and read. You know a lot of people have the courage to put their thoughts in print, but when it comes to face to face, they become cowardly.

When you are in a space with thousands of people, yes, their may be those who take it upon themselves to make it their own, but, move on and make your vacation what you want it to be.

Using the CC group in the CG to blame it on not receiving you desert on time, and the dine line being busy is NOT the groups fault. Those are just looking for excuses and problems rather than just accepting the fact that it IS a public place.

I do not cruise to the sounds of silence, I go to have a good time, and through these CC members I have become friends with many. We are not children needing to be reprimanded by having a good time. Actually a couple of afternoons, I found myself in my cabin watching a good movie watching the waves go by. Absolute peace and quiet.

Roland, keep doing what you are doing, don't let people intimidate you. You make happy memories of our cruises.

That's MY two cents

If you would have bothered to read my review you would know that we had an amazing time, and that the problem in the CG was the only service-related issue we had during the entire cruise. Not getting our dessert for nearly an hour had nothing to do with the CC group, other than the fact that the staff seemed to not handle the situation well....but that's just my opinion.

You are quite entitled to your opinion
