Isn't "Evening Chick" a euphemism for prostitute? Perhaps the OP meant "Evening Chic" which is an entirely different thing. :p

I think that the OP mentioned that in her first post of the thread........

Should read "Evening Chic":o

We are going on our first Celebrity cruise in December and read here on CC that they are changing their "Formal Nite" to "Evening Chic". Guests are encouraged to dress in nice clothes and even designer jeans will be allowed in the dining room. So, is it only a matter of time before Princess and other cruise lines follow??

Actually, some on Princess already wear "Evening Chic" on Formal nights in the MDR without a problem.

Like it or not, less formal is the way the majority of cruise lines are heading.

Agreed! We actually have subscribed to this dress code on Princess for several years....if we sailed on Celebrity, we booked the special restaurants so we didn't have to lug the formal clothing.

On Princess, I wear a sparkly top and nice slacks (never heels) and my DH wears a long sleeved dress shirt with a tie and a pair of black khakis. We have never been turned away on Princess (where we probably would have been on Celebrity), even when we asked if the dress was appropriate at the MDR. While the better food is usually served on formal night, we are also not opposed to eating at the buffet or the Crown Grill if we aren't dressed well enough for the dining room.

Glad to see this change on Celebrity....hoping Princess also makes it official. (As of now, it seems to be a non-published recommended dress code)
