july2012 Posted November 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Looking for feedback on anyone experience being in the Orlando airport on July 2nd, 4th July holiday travel. We are trying to decide how busy the airports are during holiday travel, so that we can choose the best return flight home from the ship. We really don't want to be rushing and worried about missing our flight due to time to get off the ship and back to airport , not sure how busy the airport lines will be. this will be a Saturday return along with 4th July weekend. lizardhowson Posted November 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) Are you sure you are not trying to "over plan" this - I read your other thread. If you want a direct flight on Southwest, you will have limited choices. It is a holiday period, obviously there will be more travelers. For Port Canaveral - MCO any flight at 1:00 or after will be easy enough to make (under normal circumstances). Not sure what else you can plan for or we could possibly tell you. I have a Port Canaveral to MCO return coming up, different weekend. I booked a 1:30 PM flight to be sure of enough time, but if we arrive at the airport early enough, we will try to get switched to the 11:45 AM flight. Done deal, nothing else required. BlueHerons Posted November 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Seriously? The Orlando Airport on Saturday July 2nd will be slammed. Probably the third or fourth busiest day of the year for MCO.
KruzinH20 Posted November 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Count on a hour from the time you leave Port Canaveral to get to the airport, it will be busy but manageable. Leave a bit of wiggle room and you will be fine. People do this all the time, just prepare for it.
