kvickers Posted November 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Anyone have any experience flying into FLL and renting a car to drive to Port Canaveral? I am thinking about doing this in March. Would be doing one night pre and post cruise so would have lots of time. Had planned to cruised RCL Navigator of the Seas so have flights purchased into FLL but now considering switching to the Carnival Sunshine (kids really want water slides). Any recommendations of hotels in a safe area along the way? May stop half way for the night?
EatonDoolittle Posted November 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) It is only about a 3, 3.5 hour drive, straight shot up I 95, so the only reason to stop for the night is if you want to. To just sleep: FT Pierce, Port St Lucie. To see something / shop / beach: Vero Beach, Melbourne. All the exits have clusters of lodging, check TripAdvisor. Lots of lodging around Cocoa Beach and Port Canaveral, if you decide to drive all the way up. TravelingTH Posted November 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2015 I think its not even 3 hr drive. Residence inn at the port is a nice hotel. We've stayed at this hotel prior to our cruise.

Rare Zqueeze1 Posted November 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2015 I think its not even 3 hr drive. Residence inn at the port is a nice hotel. We've stayed at this hotel prior to our cruise. We usually stay at the Residence Inn whenever in the area. If you have the time, you can go Fish Lips or any of the other restaurants for a view of the ships.
