123funcruiser Posted November 15, 2015 #26 Share Posted November 15, 2015 I Keep reading about the "overpriced items". Now it might be debateable if the Snacks in there are overpriced, but as for the water and sodas in there - they are the same Price as everywhere else onboard! No difference getting a can of Soda from a bar or the Minibar, except having to run out for getting it from a bar. My vote is I never get anything from the Minibar, because I just don´t eat/drink any of the stuff provided. However I like to Keep some water cold in there and I can fit enough water in there next to what is in there already, without having to remove anything. In 30 years of cruising I never had a Minibar Charge on my bill.
Rare h20skibum Posted November 15, 2015 #27 Share Posted November 15, 2015 Never use anything from them. The one in our cabin on the Oasis was not cold because the door did not fully close. It did, however, make a nice night light since the door was open a little.
wendychloecruiser Posted November 15, 2015 #28 Share Posted November 15, 2015 I only wish it was a fridge. It's barely a cooler box.
Debde Posted November 15, 2015 #29 Share Posted November 15, 2015 I've been known to need something to drink in the middle of the night and grab for one of those soda's. Not at all as overpriced as all that snack crap. That's the stuff that can go!!!
123funcruiser Posted November 15, 2015 #30 Share Posted November 15, 2015 I only wish it was a fridge. It's barely a cooler box. While I admit they can be hit or miss, I´ve had some that even froze my water in there:eek: Many of them could be a tad cooler for my taste, but they are sufficient. Ocean Boy Posted November 15, 2015 #31 Share Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) If there was a vote regarding the mini-bars and whether RCCL should keep them or get rid of them, what would be the numbers? I gotta think 99% or more would vote to get rid of these things. Exactly who buys anything from these things? Seems like they just annoy customers (take up space in fridge, potential for fraudulent charges), and the cost of maintaining them has to cost the cruise line more than they bring in. I'm not talking about getting rid of the mini fridge. Leave us with the empty fridge. But as for all the over priced stuff inside it? Get rid of it! Nobody and I mean nobody would miss it, and it would save the cruise line money not having to baby sit these things. I have no particular use for the thing but you actually think RCI is stocking them, and paying someone to do so, if they are not getting a return on their investment?
