I have been searching and searching for affordable transportation from our hotel in Fort Lauderdale (Feb 5) to our hotel in Miami (Feb 6) Everything is coming up around $100.

If we were to take the hotel shuttle to our hotel in FLL then the next morning shuttle back to the airport and catch SAS to our hotel in downtown Miami and then post cruise take SAS back to FLL airport then taxi to our post cruise hotel in Hollywood Beach ?

This Canadian exchange rate has me trying to cut expenses where I can

If your hotel in Miami offers airport shuttle service, you could take the Tri-Rail from FLL to MIA (airports). We have not yet used the Tri-Rail, but it is in January's plans. Between Fort Lauderdale and Miami we have used the public buses a number of times. If you want to check the buses out, the transfer point between lines is Aventura Mall. Links below.

Using the buses to get to the ship has other obstacles, like a bit of a walk toting luggage. The Trolley has a stop in POM, thus that would save the hike over the bridge. Even though we have used the trolley, we have not taken it to the ship.

it should work just fine depending on how many in your party

SAS is usually $15 pp

does the hotel in FLL have a free airport shuttle ? that would cut out the taxi fare

The hotel in Fort Lauderdale has an airport shuttle There is only myself and my hubby.

No our hotel in Miami does not offer hotel shuttle service, but I will look into these services.

Thank you both.

Hi,

Thanks for the info on the train. We are flying into Ft Lauderdale and then out of Miami the next day and doing the opposite on our return to the States as it is easier to get a flight into Lauderdale for us since BWI is a Southwest hub. Our hotel on the way down is in Miami so the train seems like the perfect solution.

Thanks again,

Barb
