We are arriving in Roseau with the Celebrity Equinox on December 17. Anyone can recommend us a guided tour of the island. Thanks a lot.

Tell us more for what type of "adventure" and/or experience you are seeking, other islands you are visiting, etc. Why? As detailed below with my posting for this charming, natural location, the options are vastly different on this island than associated with some other Caribbean places that might have much more typical tourist developments (or over-commercialized). Dominica is not as much about beaches and shopping compared to places such as St. Maartens, Aruba, etc., would offer. What you do on Dominica might be very different than what you do on other nearby Caribbean islands.

Much depends about what you seek, like and desire!! Your interests, goals, etc.??

Let us know any added questions! Don't be shy!

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

From our Jan. 25-Feb. 20, 2015, Amazon River-Caribbean combo sailing over 26 days that started in Barbados, here is the link below to that live/blog. Lots of great visuals from this amazing Brazil river and these various Caribbean Islands (Dutch ABC's, St. Barts, Dominica, Grenada, etc.) that we experienced. Check it out at:

If you go to the "Celebrity Equinoix Roll Call" for the December 11 sailing you will find a number of tours and excursions that your fellow cruisers are going on in Dominica on Decembeer 17. They cover a fair variety of activities from sedate to active, refer to post 994, dated November 28 by alibaba1 (it gets updated on a weekly basis).

Bumpiing tours are popular (3 different tour have been booked by various cruisers, including one by ourselves) but there are a few others you can look at.

You can join in and take part in the roll call if you want to or you can just look.

You can also go to "Trip Advisor", under "Destinations", for Dominca and than look under "Things to Do" where it lists a whole bunch of tour operators and their web sites together with reviews of their tours.

This should give you an idea of cost, duration, what is included and the level of activity required; this should help you decide which tour or activity best fits in with what you'd like to do.

Repost if you have more questions.

Have fun.

Not exactly what you're asking ... but several of our cruise pals took the

"Whale Watching" excursion and loved it.

They saw lots of sperm whale and a mother w/baby.

They enjoyed it so much we are considering doing it our next time in Dominica. :)
