TX Trucker 71 Posted December 20, 2015 #26 Share Posted December 20, 2015 You have to change iTunes to search iPhone apps, when using an iPad, iTunes defaults to iPad apps. Thank you! It works perfectly. You learn something new everyday!
CRocks Posted December 25, 2015 #27 Share Posted December 25, 2015 I usually brick my phone as soon as I step on the ship - put in airplane mode, no wifi, Bluetooth etc all to make sure I don't have any crazy overages. How does the HUB app work? What do you leave on so the magic happens? I am on the Breeze next month so this is great to ease my mind. Thanks! You put the phone into airplane mode then turn wifi back on.
SammySH Posted January 5, 2016 #28 Share Posted January 5, 2016 When do you pay the additional $5 for the chat option?

Lunar Blue Posted January 5, 2016 #31 Share Posted January 5, 2016 When do you pay the additional $5 for the chat option? When you activate the chat option once onboard it is charged to your account.

firemanbobswife Posted June 11, 2016 #34 Share Posted June 11, 2016 Do you need to connect to WIFI to use without chat. Yes. You put it in airplane mode and turn on wi-fi. It's free if you don't use chat.
CRocks Posted June 12, 2016 #35 Share Posted June 12, 2016 We chose the internet social media option with the app + that's an additional $5 per day or $25 per cruise. Well worth the money, especially for our next cruise, which is 15 days.
miataman19 Posted June 12, 2016 #36 Share Posted June 12, 2016 You would think that a ship that's just had a dry dock (Valor) would have gotten "Hub" installed. Nope

But I really liked having it.
landlady1952 Posted June 12, 2016 #38 Share Posted June 12, 2016 Pride does have app. 4 of us used it last week. However, it is very spotty and you have no notification if someone sends you a message. You have to constantly reconnect and check your phone constantly to see if text. But for $5 for the week give it a try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
landlady1952 Posted June 12, 2016 #39 Share Posted June 12, 2016 Just want to add that it is great to see activities for the day, check your onboard account. Just not great for communication a lot of the time. And you do need to connect to wifi Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My daughters and wife slept in today. I left the room and waited for them to chat me. It never came. Went back to the room only to find out they left the ship (they assume I left them and went into Marseille solo based on the chat I got once I rebooted my phone) I have no idea what they are doing as they have very little money. I also have their ID's other than S&S. We shall see how this end up. Guess the lesson is don't rely on Carnival chat and reboot your phone often. Shinsen1378 Posted June 12, 2016 #41 Share Posted June 12, 2016 Just got off the Freedom. The basic, free part of the app works well. it's a live version of the fun times. Our ports were rescheduled due to the tropical storm and the app always had updated info. Easy to search for certain places on ship. The optional chat is V E R Y flaky. DO NOT rely on it for any messages that are more that merely saying hello. Many messages came in late - up to a day, or never at all. If used to coordinate meeting plans it will cause a problem at some point on your cruise.
