Do you know anyone who got new prescription sunglasses on the breakaway?

We were on the Breakaway Nov 15-22nd. On Monday, the 16th, around 1030am I left my 2 week old prescription sunglasses by a slot machine in the casino. I realized with 5 mins that I had left my glasses, went back and they were gone. The gentleman sitting at the next slot machine said a woman had sat down for a few minutes, played, put on a pair of sunglasses and left. He could not really recall what she looked like but recalled she had an accent, maybe Italian?

I went to guests services every morning and in the evening hoping they would be handed in. I filled out an "irregularity report" and spoke with security. To no avail, glasses never returned.

I still feel a little ill when I think about what my I inattentiveness will cost.:(

Has anyone had any luck getting lost/stolen items after the fact?

Sure... people have gotten items back. You're just not going to be one of those people. This woman probably tried them on, walked out, realized they were prescription and tossed them in the trash.

My wife has a nasty habit of leaving her eyeglasses in random places around the house. She misplaces them constantly.

As a prescription sunglass wearer who recently paid around $500 for my script shades, I feel your pain.

Surely an insurance claim. Just because you put them down when you were playing and went back later to pick them up doesn't excuse the fact that they were stolen.

Depending on your excess and the cost of replacement put in a claim.

If you are sitting in a dining area and decide to go to relieve yourself leaving behind things they are not there for someone else to pick up.

Finders are not keepers.

The casino should have been able to help you by watching back the tape. An item that expensive is not that different from dropping a wallet and they sure did go through them all for a friend of mine who had someone walk off with his wallet that fell out of his pocket near a slot machine. Followed the guy into the elevator and saw him clear the cash out of the wallet, then go down to the box office and "return it". He had police waiting for him in Miami the next day.

So sorry this happened! If anything happens like this in the future, ask the casino to look for you.

Samething happened to me after I "dinged" out of the Breakaway in NYC. I noticed the missing wallet within minutes. Retraced my steps back onto the ship...nobody cared two cents. When I realized no one was going to help I used my cell phone to cancel my credit cards etc. everything was cancelled within 10 minutes. From now on my cc go in my carry on luggage. The biggest hassle was replacing my drivers license as I wasn't going to be in my home state for months!

File an insurance claim

Also I hope you paid for those glasses by credit card.....there is insurance there as well

Good reason to never ever pay by check if the person you are doing business with takes credit cards
