TheSweetPotatoQueen Posted December 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2015 Question: Can I bring my personal bottle of wine to dinner in the MDR?

TheSweetPotatoQueen Posted December 1, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted December 1, 2015 But of course. Thanks, Ray!! And, from what I've read no corkage fee either. Just wanted to be clear and save myself from an embarrassing situation!

andrea2609 Posted December 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2015 Yes I did it twice in August, and the waiter seemed to be very kind in opening the bottle and serving it. They'll put it in an ice bucket on request. Italian Cruiser Inviato dal mio iPad utilizzando Tapatalk
Merion_Mom Posted December 1, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2015 Thanks, Ray!! And, from what I've read no corkage fee either. Just wanted to be clear and save myself from an embarrassing situation! Surprisingly enough, Royal Caribbean is the more enlightened line here. No corkage fee. On Celebrity, they are still charging. :(
KKMurphy2 Posted December 1, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2015 We brought one to the table on our European cruise to share with our table mates for my husband's birthday. Worked out great!
spookwife Posted December 1, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 1, 2015 bring it early if it's white and they will put it on ice for you. also hold it in the unlikely event you do not kill the bottle. we still have to pick out our two.. but hey packing is done!( well mostly.. found a stain on the Uniform shirt so that has to get washed first thing in the morning) Is it Sunday yet?! On Celebrity, they are still charging. :( Didn't realise that! Hope they get rid of that soon. We generally walk in with glass in hand as we have just the one with dinner and it saves mucking around with the bottle. Sometimes we ask the room attendant for wine glasses, sometimes get a couple from a bar as we are going past earlier in the day.

Heather1972 Posted December 2, 2015 #12 Share Posted December 2, 2015 We just got ice in our room and grabbed a couple of wine glasses from bar when we needed it. I guess I thought we would have been charged a corkage fee.

Retired LEO Posted December 2, 2015 #14 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Also if you bring a bottle into the MDR that needs chilling they'll switch it out for a chilled bottle as long as they carry the same wine onboard.

Rare BlueSkiesTX Posted December 2, 2015 #17 Share Posted December 2, 2015 We brought a bottle of wine to dinner in the MDR twice last week on Liberty. No problems! Several people were doing it, so you won't be the only one. Also, had a bartender open another one for me to take back to our room. Nicole
