Keukenhof in mid-May

Our cruise will be stopping in Amsterdam on May 13 and we'd like to visit Keukenhof. But it looks like that is the very end of the season - with the park closing on May 16. I'm afraid most of the flowers will be great for viewing at that point - should we skip it or is it still worth going?

Keukenhof is lovely when the flowers are at their best - we have been several times. HOWEVER last trip we went late April and the flower beds were partially empty; what flowers there were still blooming were well past their best. There are far more interesting things to do in Amsterdam in May.

May is too late for the fantastic gardens.

Plan another trip to Amsterdam in late March to mid April and you'll experience the true beauty of the tulips.

Enjoy your day in this fantastic city's museums or just strolling the streets and markets.

Much depends how warm or cold spring will be in The Netherlands, too early to tell. There have been years with early blooming but also very late blooming.
