EPIC Theater booking options

Hi,

being new to NCL can anyone tell us how many complimebtary theater shows are we aloud to pre book prior to our cruise which is in February. so far we have booked for two, as on the NCL web site we are only being offered two dates, What do we do if we want more than two show nights?

We are on a 11 night cruise so just having two show nights seems a little odd to us as all of previous cruises with other lines have shows most nights with no restrictions.

Thanks

The entertainment on the Epic is different to how it is traditionally done on cruises.

Rather than having a different show every night, there are a couple of shows which repeat a number of times throughout the cruise. Those are the ones which are showing as available to book.

However, there are often other shows which are put on other nights. Usually these don't require reservations, and you are likely not to know about them until you board.

Given that you are on a 11 night cruise there will almost certainly be a number of such shows on.

You won't spend every night in the theatre though. However, remember the other venues like Headliners, the Cavern and Cirque. Expect to go to those places some nights as well.

There are two big shows in the Epic Theater (Priscilla and Burn the Floor). I assume those are the two that you are seeing as available for on-line booking. There are a couple of other shows in the theater that do not have any reservations (for example the Welcome Aboard show on the first night), and then other shows that you can only reserve on board (last month there was a Motown tribute called Soul Sensations).

As Keith said, there are also shows in other venues around the ship, and some of those can also be reserved, but not in advance, only on board during the cruise. Some of them are just walk-in (as you are used to on other ships).

It does take some getting used to, and a lot of people don't figure out the entertainment on Epic until the end of the cruise, and then you will see big crowds trying to get into all the shows. So I would suggest spending a bit of time on the first one or two days looking through all the options (either on the interactive TV, on iConcierge, on the touch screens all around the ship) and/or stop by the Epic box office and ask them about the shows for the whole cruise and which ones can be reserved.

Thank you Keith and Hawkeytlse

Your info gives us some idea of what to expect, it will take some time to get used to it, but looking on the bright side unlike other cruises where it is sometimes difficult to organse diner times around show times, on Epic it should give us more flexability. were quite looking forward to the chalenge trying something diferent.

We were on the Epic and booked online for both Priscilla and Burn the Floor. The latter was one of the best shows we've been to on a cruise. There are 2 lines for the theatre, one for booked guests and the other for stand bys. Howl at the Moon is great entertainment but getting a drink at the bar in there is a bit of a marathon. We could not get into the Cavern to see the Beatles Show. The venue is much too small for the number of guests who want to see the show. You can't book for this. There was a 3 man show called Men of Motown. They were fantastic. All in all, we really enjoyed the shows. I must add that we are well seasoned cruisers and in recent years (on other cruise lines) we usually pass on the shows.

You can book the two Broadway shows, Precilla and Burn the Floor, in advance. Since the theater holds 800ish people and there are over 4000 people on the ship, they do about 4 shows each to give people a chance to see them.

There is also a comedy show onboard which you can book in the Headliners club. You can usually book one comedy show and go to other shows as a standby. We try to go every night they are playing. Early shows are family oriented, later shows adult oriented.

At night the Cirque is a dinner show for an additional fee. There is also a lunch show, Wine Lovers the Musical, on sea days for a fee.

There are shows throughout the ship at nights
