satxdiver Posted December 17, 2015 #28 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Wash your hands often using a lot of lather while singing the happy birthday song (to yourself please) and then rinse them under running water thoroughly. The lather and hand washing loosens the virus but does not kill it. The rinse then causes the virus to be removed from your hands and goes down the drain with the water. Heat will kill the virus but it needs to be 150F at least.

PenguinLife Posted December 18, 2015 Author #31 Share Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) Gastro issues continue onboard, the daily captains report a few hours ago cited 24 passengers being isolated in their cabin, this number has been consistent since I started this thread, each day it seems about 10 are released from in cabin isolation and about 10 more are added. Crew continues with the intense cleaning, and full service for all items in buffet, as well as no rolls or butter left on the table in the MDR, etc. Edited December 18, 2015 by PenguinLife
PenguinLife Posted December 19, 2015 Author #32 Share Posted December 19, 2015 The captain just reported number in isolation up to 35, but we did have rough seas last night so some may be seasickness.
Calgirltraveler Posted December 19, 2015 #33 Share Posted December 19, 2015 We were on the ship last week 12/6-13, and there were no announcements of the virus. Our first day back out on the 14th the Captain reported an outbreak. Yesterday it was 35 confirmed cases with 10 new cases. We saw a woman sleeping at the terrace pool all afternoon, fully dressed, carrying a bottle of meds and wrapped in a towel. She looked very ill. Didn't know if there was anything we could do. It just concerned me that someone would be so inconsiderate about spreading the illness. Today, there are a lot of people ill from the rough night we had; as the Captain told us as we departed Cozumel...tighten your seat belts we're in for a bumpy ride. He was not kidding.
