Zeno Posted December 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2015 Hi: We will be in Aruba early in Feb 2016. I am recovering from Knee surgery and water exercise is really the best for me (I walk in the water and do exercises). I am looking for a beach with little if any "step down" going into the water AND fairly calm water. Is their a beach like that? Thx
columbusnj Posted December 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2015 The beach in front of the Ritz would be good but you won't be able to use their longers. It's fairly shallow for quite a distance. Baby beach would also be good but it's a distance from the pier.
Arubalisa Posted December 17, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Palm Beach is the place to go. The water is also shallow between the Riu Antillas and Divi Phoenix resorts. There are a few palapas on that stretch of beach.
Zeno Posted December 17, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Thx for info! Does anyone know if any of the resorts on Palm Beach offer Day Passes?
Arubalisa Posted December 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2015 The Occidental. Do a search here in the Aruba category and there will be info. The Riu also sold day passes at one time, not sure if they still do.
cb at sea Posted December 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Beaches are hardly ever rough in Aruba.....that's why folks don't surf..there is very little wave action, unless there's some huge storm out there!

The waves on Eagle Beach often get surprisingly large from time to time, for no apparent reason. One day it is nice and calm, the next day the waves are big. There is often a drop off when you get in at many places along Eagle Beach. We stay on Eagle Beach every year. You definitely need to go to Palm Beach. Skai Posted December 18, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2015 Of course conditions will be up to the weather/wave action for the day that you're in port. As suggested above, Baby Beach would be one's safest bet, as it is located in a protected cove. It's namesake is due to the fact that it's a perfect spot to bring small children to swim. The water there is very shallow. Baby Beach
