kireelady Posted December 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2015 I wasn't a big fan of the casino. It wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible. There weren't any familiar slots and the few that I was interested in playing had high maximums. There should have been more variety in my opinion. I love ended up playing and like a couple, but there weren't that many and someone was always on them all times of the day. I liked Hot Roll and these really big screens with some Asian theme. Can't remember the name, but they were fun. Didn't win, but I kept breaking even. The hosts and dealers were ok. They were friendly but that was the about it. NCTribeFan Posted December 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2015 I was on Conquest 5/31 for a Premier cruise. I don't see any differences in any of the casinos, really. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Some machines are the same, but it seems every time I find a machine that likes me, it isn't on my next cruise. They do switch them out fairly regularly it seems. Favorite bar waiter (he was on my Freedom Premier cruise on 11/29/14) is Ademar. Tall guy from Serbia (I think. Maybe Bosnia). I don't play poker, just Roulette. Some dealers are more outgoing than others, just like on the other ships. I do better with some than others (don't like the really "hard" spinners), but, really, it's all luck. I'd rather have a stern dealer under whom I win than Chatty Kathy under whom I don't! I've had luck one time, sail the same ship six months later, and have no luck at all. I certainly don't expect to win consistently. If I come home without having blown my entire gambling budget (I give myself a certain amount to play with daily and lock away my winnings (if I have any)), I consider myself to have won. ;) Just don't really see much difference from one ship to another. Crew/staff changes, too. Just because I did well at one machine on one cruise doesn't mean I'll have any luck next time, even if the machine's still there. Or the dealer. On my past four cruises over the past 12 months (Freedom, Conquest, Splendor, Sunshine), there were hot spots all over the ship and it was very noticeable in the casino. Yes, of course, there's lots of smoke. And don't expect the casino to staff to anything about smokers at the non-smoking machines or walking/standing around smoking even while not playing. WPTNGirl Posted December 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 21, 2015 To me the smoke was very bad. Usually it doesn't bother me at any casino, but I ended up trying to play more during the day when there weren't as many smokers in there. The machines are close together and only a couple of non smoking sections (which are surrounding by smoking). There were several machines that I liked and I did OK losing less than I planned on. I did best on non smoking machines beside the "quarters mania" and the walkway. Don't remember names but less smoky three too. Good Luck. Even a smoky casino is better than no casino!!! drvmywifecrzy Posted February 14, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Anyone have recent luck? What did you play when you won?
luvs2beachit Posted February 14, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Was on board 1/23-2/6. Casino was ok. I did not win any big jackpots but did hit on one or two machines that allowed me to play for hours and still walk away with some winnings. I played them until they ran cold but apparently they heated up sporadically because several others I spoke with said they also did ok on those machines. I guess thats why they were never empty. As far as jackpot wins they did announce some pretty decent wins several times throughout the cruise.
swscruiser Posted February 14, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2016 We were on 1/18/16. Like to play video poker, total of 14 machines available 4 of which were non-smoking. Six of them were the old fashion vertical screen types. Did pretty well, wife hit a royal flush playing 5 coins at a time. Smoking in the casino was the worst of any cruise casino were been on in years. Lots of people smoking while walking from machine to machine, never could tell which machines were non smoking as no one was enforcing the non smoking areas of the casino.
