acpcruiser3 Posted December 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2015 We are booked on the Miracle to do the 13 night Mexican Rivera cruise the end of January, but not sure what to expect we have only cruised the Caribbean and Panama Canal. Any suggestions, thoughts or concerns would be greatly appreciated.

riffatsea Posted December 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2015 We've been on the Miracle many times and have gone up and gone the Pacific Coast as far south as Acapulco on other ships. There are no particular concerns that we have about any of it. We are very comfy in Mexico and enjoy the ports. What questions do you have? Your post is very general so I cannot give you any advice. It is a good idea to go to the Roll Call to see what folks are planning. I'd just say that generally speaking the Pacific can be rougher than the Caribbean and the ocean water is not as warm. SDcruiser66 Posted December 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2015 We are sailing with you. We have been to all of these ports. No concerns. Some ports look like the desert meets the ocean and others are very tropical. Enjoy!!
SadieN Posted December 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2015 We have a huge roll call, come join. Check out the Mexican Riviera board for info. Only concern is a hotel he night before. There is a huge convention in Long Beach that weekend. The West Coast departure board had hotel info. Be careful of cheap hotels.

Missileer Posted December 26, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 26, 2015 The port questions have been well answered I think. But onboard we highly recommend a trip to the steakhouse---it is just superb and we do it every cruise. Enjoy

Any suggestions, thoughts or concerns would be greatly appreciated. We have done the Mexican Riviera many times. In Puerto Vallarta I recommend the Rhythms of the Night show. You board a platoon type boat and are taken to a jungle like island. While traveling there in the evening, the crew serves margaritas, wine or beer (it's part of the package). Once you arrive to the island, look around carefully as the actors in the show are hidden here and there in the jungle making it all appear mystic. You are then escorted to a big veranda outdoor-type structure for dining at a buffet-style restaurant. The food was very good with salads and array of Mexican-style offerings. Also served at your table are complimentary wine or other alcoholic beverages or coffee and soft drinks--also included in the price of the excursion. After dinner you are escorted to an amphitheater where the show begins. I forget the price but DH and I thought it was well worth the price and would do this excursion again. Cabo is another favorite port. We usually go to Captain Tony's which is located on the pier at the end. They serve excellent margaritas and bloody Mary's. We also get nachos so we don't get so blitzed. Captain Tony's is reasonably priced. There's also shopping on the pier but its more of the same stuff as the other ports and a bit more pricey. Don't waste your money on whale watching as you can see the whales and dolphins right from the ship. If you have a balcony that's even better to see the whales. Just watch for them spouting. Have a great time!
