mober Posted December 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) Taking RC Majesty January 15 - 3 day Miami, Nassau on that Sunday. Have a group of 8 sisters, all are watching their $ and do not want to pay for an excursion to see the Atlantis. What are we allowed to do on the property once we get there? (via taxi or water taxi?). We really just want to walk around and see the property, nothing else. Are we charged anything just for being on the property? Any help is appreciated! You will be allowed to see the hotel lobby and casino. They used to allow you to see a portion of the aquarium, but not any more.
Artemus Posted December 28, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2015 You will also be allowed into most of the shops and into the outdoor area where there are some restaurants and shops and you be allowed into the dock area where the mega yachts are. This is a very interesting area to see. If you take the water taxi you will walk through this to get to the casino/lobby. If you take a land taxi they drop you off at the lobby. We stayed at a time share on Paradise Island for a week. There are other things you might want to do. there is a small shopping center across from the entrance to Atlantis. [from water taxi] There is a Scotia bank on the corner. It had a restaurant [Atlantis restaurants are expensive] and a liquor store where we bought rum cakes. There is a straw market adjacent to the shopping center that is not as crowded and the vendors were not as pushy as the straw market near the dock. Carolrd Posted December 28, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 28, 2015 You will only be allowed in areas which will have things for you to spend money, ex. casino, shops, restaurants. If you want to walk around the grounds, you will have to pay a fee. IMHO, its just not worth it. Carol

mober Posted December 28, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Thanks everyone! Am sharing this with the sisters and I'm sure we'll be discussing this for the next few days!
sugcarol Posted December 28, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 28, 2015 A few years ago we booked a room at Comfort Suites and had day access to all of Atlantis. It was much cheaper than paying Atlantis. Not sure if they still do this though.
Artemus Posted December 28, 2015 #9 Share Posted December 28, 2015 I'm pretty sure they still do that, Carol. Also, there is a brand new Margaritaville that just opened this month on Paradise Island, where Atlantis is located. It's located very near the ferry terminal. I don't know how long you will be in port in Nassau. I was just there last Tuesday from 1:30 until midnight. Right after getting off the ship we walked around the town shops and got the girls their hair braids. We returned to the ship for dinner and then got off again and took a taxi ($4pp) over to Atlantis. I had previously read on this forum that frequently the guards are gone in the evening and anyone can enter the lobby and walk right through to the aquariums and The Dig for free and we were able to do this. We also went outside to see some of the grounds and the beach area. We got a taxi right outside the door to take us back to the ship at around 9:30pm.
