San Francisco: Airport to Pier

As best as I can tell, based upon hotel websites, you can expect to pay $40-$50 for a cab. You would likely be better off using a SuperShuttle. Go to their website and they can give you the pertinent information. They say it is $15 from SFO to San Francisco hotels.

Pier 35 is right on the Embarcadaro. All taxi will know where it is.

Sometimes Princess is at Pier 30/32, depending on the number of ships in on any given day. It doesn't happen very often, but be aware of the possibility. Pier 30/32 is on the other side of the Ferry Building-odd numbers on one side, even on the other.

I suggest taking the BART train into the City and getting off at Embarcadero station. The BART terminal is right in the international terminal. From there, you can either catch the "F" street car that runs along the Embarcadero waterfront, or take a taxi the short distance from there. The airport is quite far from the pier.

The F-streetcar is frequently completely packed and is not suitable for someone with luggage. Taxi is about $40 plus tip. Super Shuttle is $15 plus $8 for each additional person.

Here is a link to the berthing information for cruise ships at San Francisco:

We just completed our Sun Princess cruise which left from SF. We walked across the first lane of traffic upstairs and outside of the airport terminal to the median area. There you will find shuttle vans and get one that is going downtown. It was $15pp but they added a $1pp fuel surcharge so for the two of us it was $32 plus tip. The driver took us right to the pier which was by Fisherman's wharf, I forget the number but 35 does seem right. We had nine people in the van and he dropped off people at hotels downtown so it was a good experience on the trip there to see a little bit. took about an hour or so.
