With the situation in Baltimore be glad you have a ship there

I live in Baltimore, very close to the port. There's no "situation" here. There were riots, almost a year ago, not near at all where the port is. It's in our past. There's much more to the city than that. And it seems to me the port has plenty of customers - and not just from Carnival.

Cabin stewards - get rid of them, I like to clean and make up my own bed. Who's with me?

Golfin55 likes to clean so he is going to clean all of our rooms twice per day on every one of his cruises! He needs to know I also expect ice twice a day, clean towels, and towel animals!

Carnival tried to ban smoking on the Paradise. They found it cut into casino and alcohol revenues.

That was decades ago. These days many States forbid smoking in any public area and yet their bars and casinos have done just fine. It's a different time and it is time for Carnival to modernize in this regard!

Carnival made that a rule quite a while ago, cans only. Too many people opening the bottles and filling with liquor. So those who attempted to sneak on liquor now hurt everyone else.

Actually it didn't hurt anyone. Indeed it helped! You can now buy bottled water from Carnival cheaper than you can from Walmart!

Oh god... the free drinks on New Years was not a good idea... I don't even get how some of the kids got drinks, when me being 21 wasn't even offered by the waiters going around... I even got served virgin drinks when I clearly gave them my sail and sign card to, makes no sense... anyway I thought the cruise was great. Jamie is excellent. But what was with the speeding back to PC the last night... we where doing like 22 knots and bouncing all over the place.

Next time tell that 7 year old you will break his little leg if he jumps in again. See how quick he runs and gets his parents, then you can have a talk to them about how they should watch their child.

Pretty sure the rules about THREATENING VIOLENCE TO A CHILD are more regularly enforced than splashing. For good reason.

Amazing how many people want to live in a police state on vacation. Just have fun and enjoy watching others do the same.

New Year's Eve was crazy. Can't believe how many people were on Lido deck and how many champagne glasses were being handed out. Not sure about the speeding back but the ride out on Dec 26th was quite bumpy the first few days.

Great cruise though.

Yea IDK, all I know is that if we did the speed we where doing on the way back up to Port Canaveral we could of easily made it to Amber Cove and St. Thomas on time. I'm glad we didn't though, LOL!

What happens when the put towel animals on each lounger? No one saves chairs?

Funny you should ask that but it was very funny to see absolutely nobody messing with the towel animals on the deck chairs by the main pool until they were all taken down near 11am. It was amazing to see such respect for the dreaded towel animal literally on every good lounger by the pool.

Sweet Dutch Girl- I just can't bring myself to go onboard with wine neverless soda and water like I seen many do, I just would feel cheap and couldn't bring myself down to doing that....I can't understand how people pay for their cruise and carry case/cases of water and soda....perhaps I can understand a bottle of wine that is special to the passenger, but its just not me to lug wine onboard and my other half just would totally be embarrassed too lol.

We always take the two bottles of wine and the allotted soda and then purchase a bottle of rum through Carnival's website to have in our room. That way we can have drinks when getting ready for the evening or just relaxing in our room for a bit without having to go down to the bar. Carnival is certainly not missing out on any funds from us as the rum comes from them and we still purchase a number of drinks when out and about.

Just so you know in case you should go on a cruise and be unable to bring your soda and water Carnival does have water that you can buy for only $2.99 a case and also there are mini bars in most of the cabins refrigerators which contain sodas of various types as well as alcohol. So since Card is not the issue for you this might be a more convenient option.

My wife only drinks Dasani water so unless they start offering that we won't drink it.

Also I've had the spa balcony and I've never seen a fridge on carnival filled with soda/liquor. Last cruise was breeze last year.

Do you have to request it??

I don't know about the breeze but I've been on 20 Carnival Cruises and except for the ones on Carnival Triumph, which lacks refrigerators, all the others had soda and alcohol in the fridge. Of course these are not complementary and do therefore incur charges if you drink them. I always ask my cabin steward to remove the contents of the refrigerator so that I can store my own wine in it. If your breeze cabin had a refrigerator are you actually saying that it was empty when you boarded? If not empty what was in it?

Pet peeves:

People who complain, incessantly, about their fellow cruisers.

People who want a cruise to proceed exactly the way they think it should 100% of the time.

People who think they do everything right and everyone else is doing it wrong.

People who think Carnival employees main job should be to act as little policeman and to catch all the "rule" breakers as those folks break the rules.

People who waste their vacations and their enjoyment by focusing on all their "complaints" instead of just making the best of situations.

People who know exactly what the amenities are before they cruise and then complain that their aren't enough amenities to satisfy them while on the cruise.

People who act like a cruise ship carrying 3000 plus other passengers is their private "yacht" and everyone should be catering to them 24/7.

And so on and so on.....

You forgot, people who like to preach to other people on what they think it right and wrong

Another pet peeve are those machines in the Casino that have $2500 prizes if you can line up and use the pusher to push the money through a very small opening.

It's impossible as the machines seem to do what they want to do (not synced with where I want the pusher to go)

My Breeze fridge was full. We asked our steward to empty it and he just stacked the items behind the TV.

Yes I tend to believe there must have been some mistake happen for his refrigerator to be empty. If it's somebody's first cruise it's a reasonable assumption on their part to assume that the refrigerators are always empty but indeed they never are, unless unloaded by the room steward usually at passenger request.
