Spotted: Royal ships on google maps

Just browsing google maps and thought some people might appreciate this! Who knows when google updates their imagery, so this may not last forever. But cool for now!

Quantum: https://www.google.ca/maps/@19.784451,-72.2499198,389m/data=!3m1!1e3

Allure (check the IMO number): https://www.google.ca/maps/@26.0877992,-80.1196515,372m/data=!3m1!1e3

Oasis: https://www.google.ca/maps/@18.3308908,-64.953276,231m/data=!3m1!1e3

Freedom (pretty sure based on looks and itinerary): https://www.google.ca/maps/@18.0120818,-63.047457,232m/data=!3m1!1e3

Well that's all for now, I was trying to find the Adventure but it must be out at see when these were taken! Pretty cool seeing both Oasis class ships. They're so obviously different from everything else out there, so easy to spot. :D

Quantum is just off of Coco Cay as well. just to the Northeast of the Island Sailing towards it...

Also both of the Oasis class ships seem to have solar panels on the Viking Crown.. Early pictures of Allure did not have the panels on them.. But I zoomed in and also ran the IMO Number and it does come back to Allure... Not sure if they added the panels, or if it somehow is a google blunder again (For those who saw it a year ago, Miami had a Carnival ship with a Bow facing each direction)... somehow they overlayed the old picture of a carnival ship in the same spot with a new one, and it put a bow on each end of the ship. It has been gone for about 6 months now but it was entertaining.

When google maps takes the images they often paste new and old ones together, and take them over many days using the clearest ones for each area. There are many ships that appear in more than one port on Google Maps. Happy Hunting!

You mean Anthem?
No, I think he means Quantum; at max resolution I can see the name on the stern.

Amazing resolution on the Allure - the IMO# is very clear.

Is there any date info associated with these photos? If not, how can you tell which Freedom-class ship that is in Sint Maarten? I think that over the years all three of them have docked there. Maybe if you identified every ship in the photo and checked the port records you could pin down when that photo was taken. Too much work for me - but I bet the NRO (National Reconnaissance Office) knows:cool:

Thanks! I haven't downloaded google earth in years, so no idea what the date is of most of this imagery. My guess of the Independence was just based on recent history...

Anyone know where the Adventure is? We're boarding her this Saturday for two weeks!!! Can't wait! :D

Sint Maarten.

Thanks, actually I was wondering if anyone knew where she was on the current google maps imagery. I checked all the ports on our upcoming cruises on her, and couldn't see anything. I assume she must have been at sea when the satellite passed over?

The image of Quantum in the original post looks to be docked at Labadee - the poster I quoted was talking about a ship off CocoCay and I assumed these were more recent and with Quantum being gone for over 8 months I thought he was talking about Anthem.

Yes, based on Firefightehoop comment on Coco Cay I found a photo https://www.google.ca/maps/@25.8259941,-77.9314982,197m/data=!3m1!1e3 where I think I can read "Quantum" on the stern.

If that's Freedom, it's an old picture. St Tropez isn't updated yet

January 3rd we think we saw RCCL ship when we froze commercial for red Ford Escape. Either Vision class or Radiance was in background city scape with a needle like tower, but don't think Seattle .... Commercial had people doing water sports
