Where to get MONEY

Just thinking about this for my upcoming cruise. If I want to take out more money than what I'm bringing, whats the best way to go about it? I don't want to use my credit card that will be linked to my account. I know that you can go to the casino, and take out money against your account, but I'm looking for different ways. ATM? Going to San Juan, St Thomas, St Martin, and Tortola.. any chase banks there? Thanks..

There will be intrac atm machines at all the ports near the pier.

The problem with the casino machine is that it doesn't turn on till the ship is out to sea just like the casino itself.

I usually see an ATM somewhere outside of the casino, maybe around guest services?? But the convenience fee is higher than normal, but your bank MAY or may not cover that fee - I know our bank credits us 1-2 debit card fees per month on atm withdrawals that do not happen at our bank.

why not just buy OBC and cash it out at the casino...you may loose 3% (or more if you actually gamble with it) but it might be less than the ATM machine depending on how much you need.

I use a Charles Schwab savings account, linked to my regular checking account, to transfer money for travel. They reimburse all transaction fees at any ATM I use in the world. I transfer money before we travel, and then just withdraw the remainder after all the fees have been reimbursed, leaving about $5 to keep the account open.

 

This way I can get money on the ship or in port whenever I need it.
