wernew2cruising Posted January 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2016 If you book with them round trip from the airport to the port of LA does it go directly from the airport to the port or will there be other stops along the way? Google maps says the port is 22 miles from the airport. When I do a booking with prime time it says it takes 1 hour 10 minutes to get to port. Is it because of traffic or other stops? Thanks! Donray Posted January 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2016 All the shuttle companies will try to fill a shared van. If there are only people going to the port then will not stop anywhere else. But chances are it will have to stop other places.

I would not use PrimeTime or SuperShuttle shared vans. Look at Zippy and Karmel. You'll be much happier.

Bruin Steve Posted January 17, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2016 If it's the day of a cruise leaving out of San Pedro, there's a decent chance the shuttle goes directly from LAX to the port without venturing out of the way...The real problem is usually AT the airport...In order to fill up the van, the shuttle will often circle the airport 2 or 3 times, picking up people getting off of other flights...So, your shared shuttle may be carrying you...and another couple getting off another flight that doesn't arrive in for another 20 minutes...and then another couple that gets in on yet another flight from another airline that isn't arriving until 15 minutes after that...And, often they need to wait while all of these people find their luggage and find the proper spot at the curb. So, only use the shared shuttles if time is not urgent. If time is urgent, look into getting a single party ride--a good one is Execucar by Super Shuttle...There are two sorts of service. One has "meet and greet" at the luggage carousels, but you can save some money with the express service...When you collect your luggage, you call a number and the van comes to meet you at the curb...Do that and you will not wait for any other passengers...and you will go directly to the port....which yes, is only approximately 20 miles (depending on where at LAX you input as your starting point)... torybruno Posted January 18, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2016 We booked a private shuttle from the port back to LAX with Prime Time, because we had an early flight and I didn't want to be worried about making stops. Only traffic we hit was inside the airport.
roomba920 Posted February 1, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 1, 2016 We used Prime Time and had no problem. They did circle LAX a couple times, but picked up no one else, so they went directly to the cruise port. It didn't take as long as you quoted...I think they quote longer in case of traffic.
