Walk to Sandcastle beach from cruise dock?

I have read a few posts about walking from the cruise port to Sandcastle beach but I still have a couple of questions....if we walk to to Sandcastle, do we walk along side the road or can we walk down along the beach to it? Also is walking safe or should we take a cab?

I don't recommend walking there. You would be walking along the waterfront to the fish market which has intermittent sidewalks, then along a rough two-lane road the rest of the way. The beach runs next to that road so you could walk there if you were really determined to.

 

It's a long walk in the Caribbean sun, please just take a taxi. It's about $5.

I forget about the hot sun! Sounds like we will be taking a taxi. Thanks for the info!
