Castaway Cay 5k

Been doing some research on the 5k. I had a few questions I was hoping someone could help with!!

1. It says you meet on the boat and then disembark and walk 10 min to the starting line. Someone posted you should put your bag on a chair (obviously with non valuables inside) to hold a spot on the beach for when you finish the race. When do you do this? Does the walk to the starting line allow you to do this?

2. Also, we have 2 children who are not old enough to run. What I have read states that they can do the childcare program on the island. When do you take them to this? Or do you check them in on the boat and they take them off?

Anyone that has experienced any of this that could shed some light I would appreciate it!

1. There's no saving of loungers/chairs on Castaway Cay. Believe me, there are plenty to go around, you don't need to stake a claim before your run. There's an open box at the 5K start for putting bags in, if you bring yours with your.

2. The first 5K people off the ship are those dropping of kids at Scuttle's Cove. It's en route to the start. The only kid's club onboard during the day is the nursery. Oceaneer's club/lab goes to Scuttle's cove.
