Private tour to Windsor Castle

If you contact your London hotel, they will have a suggestion for you.

It looks fairly easy to take the train from London.

You may find the link below from the Royal Collection Trust/Windsor Castle website helpful:

By train: To Windsor & Eton Central or Windsor & Eton Riverside from London Waterloo or London Paddington (National Rail Enquiries Service 08457 484950 (UK)).

By coach: Green Line operates daily services from Victoria Coach Station, London.

Tour companies operate excursions to Windsor Castle from many London hotels. For details, please ask your hotel concierge.

Yes - getting to Windsor by train is easy. There are trains every half hour or so from Waterloo Station. Cost for an anytime return ticket is £20 or less. Journey times vary according to which train you catch - from 30 minutes up.

The Castle is a 10 minute walk from the station.

There are half day coach tours, but they are roughly twice the cost for very little advantage

Since there are four of you, it may be worth looking at private hire cars. The fare from a West End hotel to Windsor (using a Windsor based company) should be around £50 each way pre-booked.

I have no personal experience but this is one possibility: http://www.windsorcars.com

My internet search does not find any tour company offering London to Soton with a stop at Windsor. Stonehenge yes and plenty in the other direction.

Since you will have your luggage, your options are limited. In fact a private hire car is really the only way I can see it being possible.

You could try the usual suspects for a quote and take it from there. Of course, you will have to pay for the driver's waiting time.
