PeabodyNVL Posted April 28, 2004 #27 Share Posted April 28, 2004 And what most people don't realize is the main mode of transmission for Norwalk is...you guessed it...fecal contamination. So, let this be a lesson. If there is an outbreak of Norwalk on a ship you are on, instead of just giving up going to the buffet, consider giving up the pools too. roohound Posted April 29, 2004 #32 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Interesting! I was just checking out the most recent CDC cruise ship inspections and saw this on the Grand Princess comments..it cost them a point: #20 POOLS AND SPAS All the pools and spas did not have signs stating: children in diapers not allowed (it also says that this was removed from the final report) So if people get huffy about little Johnny not being able to simulataneously crap himself senseless and swim his heart out, blame the CDC, not Princess LOL

sue d. miller Posted April 29, 2004 #34 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Hi Bisous. Aren't they great!! It is nice to have fun also, and not be serious all the time. I know it is very hard work, but someone has to do it. Glad they are on the Princess board. Sue 7 days on Star Princess 10/

JanC Posted April 29, 2004 #38 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Ok, if we could just get back to being serious for a minute, (I know, party pooper (no pun intended!) Jan). The bottom line (again no pun intended!) is, no kids, or adults for that matter, that can't control themselves, in the pool! YUK YUK YUK!!!! Now everyone have a nice day! sue d. miller Posted April 29, 2004 #39 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Good morning, Jan. You are absolutely right!!! We have stressed the bacteria, the yellow water, the floaters, other children, other adults, going in after and getting sick, and the Grand losing points for not having the signs posted to keep diapers of all sizes out of the pool. Have a great day. Sue 7 days on Star Princess 10/
AmyBeth68 Posted April 29, 2004 #40 Share Posted April 29, 2004 You guys are hilarious . OK..now that I've caught my breath from laughing...I'd like to make a comment (and I do have kids, but they are thankfully out of the diaper stage). On our Golden cruise they had to shut down the main pool for 2 days for "sanitization" allegedly b/c of an infant's accident in the pool. I too feel bad for the little ones...but the alternative is YUCK! Also, Princess now posts signs that children in diapers are not allowed in the pools. sue d. miller Posted April 29, 2004 #41 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Thank goodness for the signs!! Now lets hope the parents will read the signs, and the sign is enforced. My guys are out of diapers, but on a cruise I won't let them go in the pools, or hot tubs. Mean? Maybe, Sick? Nope.
