Sony used to warrant for only 90 days on labor. That seems to have changed on many models. Confirm the warranty period before you buy.

Going from Nikon Coolpix to Nikon D70 is a pretty big jump. Unless you set it on automatic all the time, learning how to use it may take awhile. Also, have you consider the additional weight and bulk? A DSLR is not something you stick in your pockets, but a camera hanging around your neck. what a great site. it sure helped me to know where to even start and what too look for in a digital. wow, there are so many things to pick from and still take good pix if you are an amature :D .
