Margaritaville on Escape - Updates?

Yeah - when we were on the 3-day taster in November it was still included with the cruise fare. But, the wait was crazy... I can't believe NCL dropped the ball on getting the licensing in order. I think the same thing must have happened with SpongeBob and TMNT for the mini golf on the Escape. If you look at the original CGI pics, there was supposed to be a TMNT theme up there. Hmmm... Not sure what this new guy is doing, but I don't think I like it too much...

They intentionally dropped Sponge Bob (THANK GOD).

TMNT?

Good to hear! Any recommendations?

My prawns were perfectly cooked and had an amazingly bright and flavorful sauce. DH's scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious, though the dish was rich.

For apps, the carpaccio was really interesting and delicious-a little different than other carpaccio we've had. I had the lobster/crab salad. It was really good, but I'm still torn if I should've had the tuna. I asked the server and she recommended the lobster salad over the tuna.

While I still don't agree that a $5 or $6 cover charge is the right thing to do either, I'd be more inclined to at least try it once if they instituted this charge/change to the pricing policy.

I was actually thinking a $10 cover charge. We might have tried it for that. The a la carte pricing for that quality just doesn't cut it, especially when it was planned as free. And I think $10 would have still made many say no, enough to ease the ridiculous congestion.

Maybe you and I are happy they dropped Sponge Bob, but I've seen a few posts that there are some disappointed kids out there. ..

I'm disappointed NCL doesn't have a Hooters but I'll live and so will the kids:D

  • 4 weeks later...
Why is margaritaville not included with the unlimited dining package? what

is the surcharge??

It is included in the UDP -BUT If you have the SDP then it will be used as one of your dinners/meals So probably not worth using it in place of the other specialty restaurants

It is included...It depends on which plan you have, however, how it's charged.

If you have the old UDP, with unlimited dining, its free. If you have the SDP, it is still free, but costs you a meal credit.

Or you can just pay the a la carte prices (really not very much, and quite a bit of food), and save your meal credits...
