Drink Package Upgrade

We are booked on Independence in October out of Southampton, booked direct with Royal Caribbean and got the Select package & MyTime dining included in the offer, we are wondering if we upgrade this to Premium do we just pay the difference as when I tried to do it online it seems to want the full cost. Royal staff say it has to be upgraded onboard. Be grateful to hear if anyone has done this.

Yes, you can upgrade and yes, you must do it on board.

You would pay the difference if you upgrade onboard the ship. You cannot upgrade pre-cruise.

Thanks for the prompt replies folks, you have provided the answers I was hoping for. Still it's only money at the end of the day and I don't think I would be quibbling over a few hundred pounds, still better in our pockets though.

If you upgrade mid-cruise, can you do that as long as there are 4 nights left when you upgrade? I'm going on a 10 day. Can I upgrade on day 7 in the AM?
