shipgal Posted February 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2016 I am looking at staying either at Embassy Suites on 17th Street, or the Residence Inn by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport and Cruise Port, the night prior to our cruise. I know the Embassy Suites seems to be closer to the airport and port. Has anyone stayed at Residence Inn, or both, and what is you recommendation in terms of quality of hotels and distance, and location.
Clarea Posted February 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2016 We've stayed at the Residence Inn and thought it was a very nice property. It has true two-bedroom suites, so it may work our less expensive for two couples, or a family. I've not stayed at ES, so I cannot compare. jhagen Posted February 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2016 We like Embassy Suites if you can get a good price. Fantastic breakfast and free evening happy hour if you as so inclined. Do not have any experience with Residence Inn.
Husky61 Posted February 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2016 I think either of them would be a safe choice.:)

Location is great. Lots of restaurants and shopping near by. Rooms are large. Breakfast and happy hour are ok, nothing special. And it is a zoo on embarkation day (hard to get elevators with luggage). We enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance a little more (but no breakfast or drinks). But we wouldn't rule out Embassy for future trips.
BlueHerons Posted February 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2016 I would pick the Embassy over the Residence Inn just because of the location.
