Houston Hobby Drury Inn

For those of you that have stayed at this hotel (located at 7902 Mosley Road), is there a place within walking distance to pick up pop (soda)? Like a local grocery store or gas station? Is it safe to walk in this area (even at night?) :confused:

I have stayed here twice. But we were driving and did not pay any attention to what was around there for picking up pop. If you don't get any information before I leave on our Magic cruise next month I will take a look around as we are staying there again.

 

I am not sure if it is safe to walk around at night. The most reliable information will come from people who live in the Houston area, they usually know best, not someone who spends only a night there.

It's not in the best part of town (that includes the whole Hobby airport area). Your best bet would be to grab a cab to a local groc store. You are pretty much surrounded by a bunch of hotels and bars.

We just returned and loved our stay at this place. There was an authentic Mexican restaurant next door to the hotel (they didn't even speak English) and the food was awesome and cheap! There's also a taco place directly across the street.

 

We walked down the street and across the main road to the gas station (there's 2 on the corners) to purchase our pop (soda/Coke). It worked out great for us. Thanks for the help. :)

I have been watching this thread and would like updated responses on how you were able to buy pop/ wine while staying at drury. If not walkable, how much was taxi? Thanks!

You can check mitsugirly's Jade review by clicking on the link below. Post 53 gives information on where she found soft drinks. Not sure about wine.
