Fort Lauderdale Parking under $7 per day

We've utilized two different valet parking facilities at the Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise port in the past few weeks.

Gold Coast Rentals has been very professional - they dropped us off and picked us up promptly and offered a $10 car wash. The only negative is that they charge $5 extra for credit cards (which is probably not allowed per their merchant agreement).

On the other hand I have mixed feelings about US1 Parking. We waited with another couple who was going to the airport about 40 minutes for a ride - we were going to the cruise port. It turned out their van was waiting for someone who wasn't ready at the airport (they ask us not to call until we have our luggage). The clerk left for lunch, leaving a new person at the desk and he had no idea how to answer questions from the airport bound couple who was afraid of being late for their flight. Upon return the wait wasn't so bad but they were quite oversold and it was hard to maneuver in their parking lot to exit. I don't believe they charged extra for credit cards.

For the cruise we just got off of, we parked at "Luxury Parking". Yep...we waiting about 20 minutes for the shuttle, we saved over $50 by parking there instead of right at the pier. For us.....it WAS worth the wait. On Princess, self walk off started at 6:30, we were in our car at 7:15. We had a 3 hr drive home. Getting home at 10:15 instead of at 10 was well worth the $50 plus savings! (to us, anyway!)

Others have reported waiting 40 minutes for a shuttle. Others have reported having to pick up passengers at multiple locations. Others have reported having to wait to offload passengers. Guess it all depends. If we only had a three hour drive, I don't guess it would matter all that much. But, our's is a 14 hour drive. Who wants to add another hour to that?

It probably depends also what day your return and what line you're sailing on as to how quickly you can get out. We docked on a Monday, only 2 ships were in port, and as I said, walkoff started at 6:30. If you return on a Sat or Sun there are several ships docking (and obviously, a LOT more people at the piers which adds to longer waits). Also to note: We were on a HAL cruise in Nov and self walkoff didn't even start until 8AM.
