excitedofharpenden Posted February 24, 2016 #26 Share Posted February 24, 2016 We spent 3 &1/2 days in Bali before the Quest sailed from there. We stayed at the Grand Niko Hotel in Nusa Dua, because we wanted to be away from all the hustle and bustle of Kuta and surrounds. It was a good choice for us. We hired a private driver to see the sights for 1 3/4 days. In summary, Bali has a horrendous traffic problem, and getting around the island to see the sights is a real challenge in terms of time.Pick your itinerary with that in mind. It's a beautiful island with friendly people, but the traffic and smog really detracts from the allure, at least for us. Not wishing to continue the hijack, but I'd second the traffic comment. Allow plenty of time to get around. Getting inland to the rice fields and Ubud is a good way to spend the day as is Kitamani with a view of the volcanoes, but the journey is slow. pvkatmom Posted February 25, 2016 #27 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Thank you, Judy and Phil, for the Bali info. Judy, I will email you. As to positive reviews, I really enjoyed seeing the blog with photos captioned "Newbie Blog from Journey" that was posted on this Board today with a link to a blog made by Wanda. I loved seeing her photos of Journey post dry dock-- and Wanda's upbeat attitude about everything was refreshing.
