Airline fare from NYC to MIA in April - why so expensive?

I found the best airfare for my cruise in april (MIA) on AA.com. keep checking, I noticed their fares changed several times a day,

Stay away from Philly airport. Unless you have the very first flight out that morning, it almost guaranteed you will have air traffic control delays. That airport is a nightmare!

Try Bradley out of CT. Our April vacation is two weeks prior than most.

Southwest have some GREAT deals for the week you are needing and they are nonstop flights into FLL.

You can't buy tix. But at least you can compare multiple mixes of airports. Knowing how to use the "advance codes" search function helps.

 

On a related topic, checkout "exitfares.com", which searches for deals and sends you e-mails. Not the same as ITA search. But you get great deal notices regularly (not the same as airfarewatchdog- good for keeping tabs on price changes).

I had good luck with Google Flights for my one way back from Hawaii flight. They have a lot of multiple airline flights that are cheap, so I assume they are using advanced software also.
