tbird10 Posted February 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Sailing on the silhouette 4/10. Interested in going to honfleur from Le havre by bus or otherwise. Has anyone used bus vert (#20??). Would appreciate any information as to the schedule and time to get there. Would also be interested in forming a group to tour honfleur, deauville and other nearby towns. Perhaps, by car/minivan etc. Thanks. Tbird10
sail7seas Posted February 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 29, 2016 You should go to the roll call for your cruise to post this. That is your best chance to find interested people.
Rare Hlitner Posted February 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) Agree with "Sail" that the group idea is something to be posted on your roll call. As to Honfleur (love this small town) and Deauville (not as nice as Honfleur) we see this part of France (like much of France) as somewhat romantic. We no more want to be in a group when in a place like Honfleur then in a group in our bedroom (oops). DW and moi have had many truly wonderful lunches at various cafes around the small harbor in Honfleur. And strolling around that small city does not require a guide, but simply working legs and comfy shoes :) Hank Edited February 29, 2016 by Hlitner

Clarea Posted February 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 29, 2016 How did you get from Le havre to honfleur I would try asking that on the Ports of Call forum: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Northern Aurora Posted February 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 29, 2016 We have been to Le Havre several times, and have just taken a taxi from Le Havre to Honfleur. If the OP checks the roll call for their particular cruise they may find other folks also interested in sharing a taxi to Honfleur.

Rare Hlitner Posted March 3, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Help! Have tried without success to find the bus schedule from the Le havre port to honfleur. Would Like to leave Le havre by noon and return by six pm on 4/22/16. Any info would be appreciated!! Dealing with bus schedules (when they even are posted) often requires a pHd in something! For some reason we can not longer find the current schedules but here is the old schedule (they probably never updated it in the past year) http://www.busverts.fr/affichage.php?id=432 As you can see, using this is difficult. However, based on past experience we have always found the buses between Le Havre and Honfleur run too infrequently to be of much use to a majority of cruisers. Sometimes there are more then 3 hours between buses. There will be taxis at the port that will probably charge an outrageous 25€ per person to go to Honfleur. You can try to negotiate a deal with the taxis....but may not be very successful. Normally when we are in this post we simply rent a car for the day which gives us the freedom to go where we want...when we want. Also keep in mind that these buses do not come inside the port and you would still have to hike out of the port which is somewhat of a hike if you are not a walker. There is a tourist office/counter at the port (which may or may not be staffed depending on the phase of the moon) and they can give you a local map and mark the bus stop. colerosebud Posted April 4, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 4, 2017 Thank you. Will make a note of the schedule. Is this for the #20 bus?? Did you go by bus to honfleur? Did you have to purchase the tickets early to get a seat?? I am in the same boat. From what I can figure out it is bus 50 and the tickets run about 4.20 Euro each way. You can purchase tickets on the bus. There is also a bus 20 but I haven't been able to figure out a schedule. The previous poster said there is a tourist info at the port so maybe they can give info or certainly at the bus station, they will have info. morbihan Posted April 5, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 5, 2017 I have just looked at the busvert site to check. There are three buses running in a morning, two number 20 and a 50. They will have different routes to pick up people going to work on the earlier buses. What date are you looking for? Here in France, one departure for a bus IS a timetable:)
