Funny story. We had a friend of a friend come over one night when we had several people at the house. We're good hosts and often keep booze in the house that we don't drink.

 

I was getting everyone drinks and she says "I'm big into whiskey. I've just become such a huge whiskey fan. Do you have any?"

 

Me: "Well, I should warn you that I'm not really into the whole whiskey, bourbon, scotch thing, but I have a few bottles from that family. Don't be disappointed."

 

Her: "Awesome! I love, love, love whiskey."

 

I should break and say this is a 35 to 40-ish year old woman who appears to be from a professional background.

 

Me: "I've got a bottle of Jack Daniels, a bottle of Johnny Walker Black, a tiny bit of Crown Royal, and a mini bottle of Maker's Mark."

 

She looks at me oddly.

I look at her expectantly.

Me: "Which one can I get you? I'm guessing these aren't quite your brand. Like I said, I'm not a huge fan of that family of liquor. Sorry, it's all I've got."

 

Her: "I guess I'll just take some Jack Daniels."

 

I have some nice whiskey glasses a friend brought me back from a trip to the JD distillery, so I pour her up a couple fingers of Jack in one. I'm trying to be as impressive as I can be.

 

She takes a sip and goes into a full epileptic-like fit.

 

Her: "OH MY GOD!!! THIS IS SOOOOO DISGUSTING!! OH MAN!!!"

 

She's thumping her chest and stomping her foot.

 

At this point, I'm apologetic.

 

Me: "Wow. I'm sorry. That's a big reaction. I know people who are into that big time have pretty distinct palettes for what they like. But is it THAT bad? Has it turned or something?"

 

Her: "That IS NOT whiskey! That's horrible. It's strong and nasty."

 

Me: "What do you normally drink?"

 

Her: "Real whiskey is called Fireball!"

 

Me: "HUH?"

 

Her: "Fireball"

 

At this point I'm full-on laughing and so are like 5 others there.

 

Her: "What's so funny?"

 

Me: "Fireball is DEFINITELY not whiskey. I'm not into whiskey, but even I know that Fireball is just cinnamon-flavored party shot drink. It may be based on whiskey, but it's 100% not whiskey."

 

Her: "It's whiskey!"

 

Me: "I'm sorry, we don't have Fireball, Goldschläger, or Hpnotiq."

 

Her: "I'll just take a Coke or Pepsi."

Lol! that's awesome. We like fireball and Jack. :) was actually talking to my 21 yr old daughter about fireball for our upcoming trip just last night :) can you do shots with the drink package?

Yes..but not one after another....they sort of regulate the time between drinks.

Awesome :) we aren't the one after another type group anyways. It's more of a celebratory shot vs a getting drunk thing for our group

Yes, I've seen them carry both Angry Orchard and Strongbow.
