Is there a difference between 'cruise cash' and OBC?

 

We redeemed points off our Carnival CC and it was redeemed as 'cruise cash' which was separate from our OBC. I asked the Carnival agent about it and was told it was the same, so why the two separate names?

Cruise cash is an amount of money you or friend purchases that is applied to your account. OBC is amount of money that is applied by Carnival for a price reduction, or as a reward for booking a cruise.

Having Cruised Princess a few times and like to add Cruise cash to the account in advance, I was pleased to see I could do the same with Carnival. On our last cruise at the end we still had unused cash on it, Great I had no probs getting it returned to me.

So I was horrified to see that Carnival "won't" return what is clearly your money.

For that reason I "won't" be doing it for our upcoming Vista Cruise.

No way am I going to risk them keeping money that is not theirs to keep.
