Has anyone been on the Magic since it's dry doc? We are cruising the end of April and would love to know how things are. Still looking for the current deck plan showing all the changes also.

Her first sailing after dry is this week. I saw on another site someone on board said it was wonderful and for those that know the Magic are in for a great surprise. Sailing a b2b Apr and can't wait to see the changes.

The Carnival Cruise website contains a new set of deck plans for the post dry dock Magic. The Lido deck plan shows the four new venues that were installed (Guy's Burgers, Blue Iguana Cantina, Red Frog Rum Bar, and Blue Iguana Tequila Bar). The only thing missing is the new Alchemy Bar that is on the Promenade Deck (5) on the port side in the Ocean Plaza. It does not show that the casino was given new carpet, rooms got new mattresses, the hull was striped and repainted, and there was a lot of painting outside and inside.

Is The Magic sailing out of Galveston still? Or will it be in the future? I get confused which ships are where and which ships are moving with the "Dancing of the Ships" or whatever it is called.

I would like to try a ship with all these features, particularly Guys and Alchemy. Galveston is within driving distance for me...hmmm...

Magic is moving to Port Canaveral sometime this year because we are sailing in December from Port Canaveral

The BBQ outside in deck five has been changed. I saw pictures of it as it was being built. Does anyone know where the deli is now or if they added the HUB app?

I saw the same pictures but it is not listed as being on the ship at all now.

Even the new deckplans simply say bbq but no real info.

Fat Jimmy's or Oceanside? Again nothing showing at all.

The Magic is leaving Galveston April 17th going to Florida. The Carnival Breeze is coming to Galveston to replace her and is the sister ship with all the 2.0 upgrades. Nancy

I don't know if the hub is available or not - we just got back Sunday morning, and I could never figure it out... so I'm guessing its not up and running yet.

The Funtimes lists the BBQ place as Oceanside BBQ. We had a snack there, and it was pretty good. Magic was a beautiful ship, and I'd travel her again in a heartbeat!

Most of the upgrades were in place. The only one that made a difference to me was the Guy's burger. The two lido bars had the new signs, no real increase in what was offered. The deli was moved to the back buffet near the desserts. Pizza was move to very back by the aft bar.

They were still doing repairs as the kept two elevator on each set of elevator out of service. This was a major pain as they were over 100% capacity with half of Texas on spring break.

I was on the Magic and just noticed the Guys burgers and the Blue Iguana and the Alchemy bar. Other than that, carpet floors and walls appeared the same. The deli is on the lido in between other food areas, across from the section where they have the desserts. I am sorry but other than the Guys', Iguana and Alchemy, everything else is pretty much the same, but that's just my opinion, I guess I was expecting more.

I'm looking at a 3Day to Nassau out of Canaveral on the Magic. My other choice is a 4 day on the Victory.... But think I'd prefer the Magic.

Just have to get someone to check in on my kitties....

Sort of old news.... but for those interested

Carnival Magic will continue its seven-day schedule from Galveston through April 10, 2016 then reposition to Port Canaveral to launch year-round seven-day Caribbean cruises April 23, 2016. Prior to launching its new seven-day schedule from Port Canaveral, Carnival Magic will operate a special three-day cruise to Nassau April 20-23, 2016.

So I'm sure folks have seen the news elsewhere on this board, but the old BBQ place on Magic has been replaced by Guy's Pig and Anchor, another Guy Fieri/Carnival team-up. Anybody had any yet? Any good?

on another thread Mjhind posted the following

We were on the Magic last week. we stopped by the new bbq one day and I grabbed a small plate of food to sample. I had the chicken, pulled pork and the cole slaw. The chicken was fantastic. The pork and slaw were very good. I will also say that we liked the guys burgers too. My personal favorite new addition was the blue iguana tacos. I had a few of those almost every day.
