Crusin6 Posted March 15, 2016 #51 Share Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) This all works very well on other lines but not NCL. I was told that I only can have my roomcard back after the spa crew member would be finished with all she had to say. One of the many reasons I´m done with NCL. No chance to avoid the sales pitch and they turn into rude mode if after the sales pitch you leave without buying anything. Oh I would have loved it if they pulled that line on me. Lol I almost want to book an overpriced treatment just to see what all the hard sell fun is about. MICHLEV1974 Posted March 16, 2016 #52 Share Posted March 16, 2016 All I can say is that if a pax knows that the sales pitch at the end will cause them stress during your treatment and they won't be able to relax.... Then why are they booking a ships overpriced spa treatment in the first place? Just get one at home before the cruise at a reasonable price at a spa that will value you as a return client!!!! Some of us just dont make the time at home to have a spa treatment and they look forward to it on the ship. Which is the point of the OP to begin with. We just want a spa treatment without the anxiety of a sales pitch at the end. It's not overpriced if you consider it ok with your budget. Honestly so done with the rudeness on here. Honestly so done with the rudeness on here. However....having the treatment on the ship is obviously a stress builder for the op because of the concern....long before the treatment even happens.....that she will have to fight off the hard sell The anticipated anxiety alone makes having a ship spa treatment not worth it to me That's why I don't do them Plus I get better prices at home in a stress free environment. Fwiw I also would never write down no sales pitch especially before the treatment If you were the masseuse would you give a great massage or just a so so massage knowing you won't make a commission in the end? My guess is those that book a spa treatment on the ship are not spa junkies...like I am lol..... So probably don't realize if they service is excellent or not Anything is great when you don't do them regularly and that's how it should be of course but spa veterans know the difference I know posters will now brag about their superb treatments...but seriously... If you say no sales pitch And the worker knows you are not going to be a return client ( unless you booked b2b2b2b cruises lol... You are going to get an average treatment at best Which is fine for someone who gets spa treatments few and far between Sent from my iPad using Forums Edited March 16, 2016 by Crusin6
Ericktina Posted March 17, 2016 #54 Share Posted March 17, 2016 While I actually hate spa treatments (even if free)... but do think the hard sell is a problem according to friends. Have had these friends tell me they don't do spa treatments on ships for this very reason. Agree--I never go because of aggressive sales pitch--a shame. luvtheships Posted March 17, 2016 #55 Share Posted March 17, 2016 I don't even consider spa treatments on the ships not only as they are a rip off but because of the sales pitch

It's not being rude to tell you that if you want a spa treatment on the ship there will be a hard sell at the end If you can't or won't deal with it then Just cross off the spa treatment at sea I've crossed off the casino even though I would like to lose $50 in it But they ain't stopping the smokin anytime soon...[emoji37] so I keep my $50.
