Girlsmom Posted March 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2016 I had read people tape the luggage tags to a box of soda or pack of bottled water and leave with checked bags, but I read in the carnival paperwork from my booking and it specifically states that soda and bottled water must be "carried on". who has experience on ecstasy from Charleston with leaving soda and water with checked luggage? cruzeluver Posted March 14, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2016 They do. Cost for ordering in advance is $3.99 per 12 pack. Not sure if the price is the same if you order once on board.

ShakyBeef Posted March 14, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 14, 2016 oh good! how do I "order in advance"? Online, on Carnival site, from Fun Shops. It will be treated as a gift purchase, so it won't show up on your orders in your cruise documents. Just print out the order confirmation email and take it on your cruise with you in case the water isn't delivered.
reerun25 Posted March 14, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 14, 2016 no plastic bottles? ( I thought "bottles" meant glass...) New rule change, no plastic bottles. A 12 pack of bottled water can be ordered from the Fun Shops and delivered to your cabin on the first day, for $3.99.
armann Posted March 14, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 14, 2016 This is probably a silly question, but does bringing a 12 pack of soda on board count against your bottle of wine? I.e. can you bring 12 cans of soda and a single bottle of wine in your carry one?
coevan Posted March 14, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 14, 2016 you can buy it through room service as well, same price. We drink a lot of water and drank 3-12 packs in 11 days.

Qchell Posted March 14, 2016 #16 Share Posted March 14, 2016 No, wine is separate. We always take a 12 pack of canned sodas per person and a bottle of wine per person. Jut as a heads up - sometimes you will get waived right on through, no questions asked and barely even look at your soda and wine and other times they may pull you aside and inspect the wine bottle carefully as well as your 12 pack. You never know, so just go with the flow and enjoy your cruise!
coevan Posted March 14, 2016 #17 Share Posted March 14, 2016 in January it was $2.99 and the tip was about .50, won't break the bank, we also gave him a dollar in cash.

cruising with the family Posted March 14, 2016 #22 Share Posted March 14, 2016 FYI, when I boarded in Charleston 2 weeks ago, they were unpackaging and inspecting everyone's 12-packs, then reassembling and retaping them. It was a pain in the butt and took a while...so definitely in your carry on and be prepared for inspection!!
