Excursion question

keep in mind that Viator is just a middleman, not the actual vendor.

If you look thru a few trip reports you'll find first hand recommendations for vendors at each port. Excursion experiences will vary widely ... 10 vs 100 passengers, 2 hrs vs 3 hrs, naturalist onboard, etc. Some people want a small boat for a whale watching tour, others need the stability of a large boat. Lots to consider which is a good reason to choose your own vendor and meet your needs as best you can.

Agree with this poster. Through research, you may be able to find a good tour company, even the one that contracts with Viator.

However, I will say that we have used Viator all over the World and always been satisfied with them. In some cases, we found the company that they contract with and the prices were not far apart at all.

We are booked on the NCL Sun northbound from Vancouver in September and I have compared Viator, NCL and other tours. The price difference between private tours and the ship's tours are usually significant, but frankly, there is not a huge difference from what I found with my research.
