Docking in La Rochelle

Does the ship dock right in the town or is a shuttle required?

You need a shuttle, the port is well outside the town. It usually drops off by the river side not car from the tourist office.

 

Beutiful little place with some lovely shops, restaurants and quaint cafes.

The Ship berths at La Pallice and this is 3.5 miles from La Rochelle and a shuttle service will operate

La Rochelle is lovely - we went into 2 of the 3 towers that are overlooking the harbour on/by the sea walls. Only cost a few Euros. Then we had a lovely lunch overlooking the harbour.
