This will be my wife and I's second cruise. The first one was on the jewel last spring. We are looking at one of these three for next january and are looking for a little advise. We wont have kids with and will possibly be traveling with another couple. Iternaries are different but similar enough both will take is to warm destinations which is our number one goal. For our first big ship experience which ship gets your vote and why? Thanks in advance for the help.

Ive been both on the getaway and the epic.I loved both ships..I love the waterfront on the getaway but i would prefer the epic for a couples only cruise..In my opinion spice is way better on the epic which has a pool as well and really nice layout..It didnt feel so crowded as the getaway..An other thing i thought it was amazing on my last cruise on the epic(ive sailed her three times) was the cavern club which had an absolutely amazing rock cover band named SIGLO..These guys were the best entertainment we have ever had on NCL..The price most probably is going to be cheaper as well and the epic goes to great stirrup cay which ive been many times and love..For me it would be epic for sure

I have only been on the Epic, and I too, love Spice on that ship. The pool, stadium-style seating for the lounge chairs, own bar and food...we spent every day there from 8am-5pm.

I have sailed on the epic 5 times and the escape and getaway once each.

My next cruise is on the epic for several reasons.i prefer the aft spa,the casino, the nightclub bliss and the casino on the epic. The other two ships have the waterfront and the ropes course.

The deciding factor was the port canaveral!

Thanks for the thoughts. Spice sounds fun is there an upcharge for that or is it included? They didnt have that on the jewel. That gsc sounds great and the ubp works there as well which is a cool perk.

Thanks Ted I think I am leaning towards the Epic right now. The ropes course doesn't bother me since the kids wont be with. We are much more sit by the pool with a drink in our hands type of people.

What did you not like about the Getaway? Was it a lot different from the escape?

The Escape handles crowds much better than Getaway. We never felt crowded on Escape, and Getaway there were always bottlenecks. Sailed both ships during the same spring break week.

No spice is free for everyone..ubp is included at gsc until today..nobody knows if it will still be included by january..look at the other new ncl island..there it wont be included but i think they will leave gsc as it is

Makes sense. Thanks

The last Epic january 2017 cruise will include 6 ND crazies, 3 couples. 5 of the 6 of us turn 30 within 6 months so...it'll be a good time.

I'm most looking forward to spice on the Epic as well.

Anyone know about the ice bar on epic? Is there additional cost?

There's a $20 cover charge. You get two drinks off their drinks menu and you can stay in the bar as long as you can stand it (pretty cold).

Bird - is there any talk of the entertainment on Epic changing?

The entertainment on the Epic is all new. It changed in October 2015 as the ship came out of dry dock. Percilla and Burn the Floor are probably on for a 5 year contract (as Blue Man Group and Legends in Concert before them). We were actually at opening night of Percilla in October.

Good thing I didn't start by reading the review, nothing but a bunch of negatives on all 3. Some peope are never happy unless they are complaining.

Like anything else, the ones who have a good experience are quiet about it...the noisy ones had the worst time and want everyone to know about it.
