NCL Epic - Very Few Inside Cabins for > 2?

Trying to book a number of cabins for an upcoming cruise (9 months out) and part of our group (couple and 9yo son) would like an inside cabin to save money...only problem is only the family cabins hold more than two and they are sold out. This seems a little crazy to me as when I've sailed on ships like Getaway/Breakaway there are TONS of inside cabins that hold 3/4 based on the ship diagrams.

 

Is there something I'm missing here? Are we just SOL? Any insight would be appreciated.

It looks like you are right, regular insides only accommodate 2. Will it let you book a guarantee for 3?

I hadn't noticed or heard of that before but it kind of makes sense as there are a lot of other design flaws too on Epic that are fixed to Breakaway class designs.
